Following the disappointment of missing out on Lionel Messi, Saudi Arabia is now targeting PSG’s Kylian Mbappe. A Saudi club has already begun the recruitment process, and international media reports suggest that PSG has received a substantial transfer offer of $300 million for the talented player.
If the reports are accurate, this amount would surpass the previous world record set in 2017 when PSG paid $247 million to acquire Neymar.
Al Hilal, the Saudi club, is reportedly prepared to make a substantial offer for the 24-year-old French captain, Kylian Mbappe.
Sources have revealed information regarding the transfer fee, but the exact value of Kylian Mbappe’s potential contract remains unclear. The question arises whether he will receive a jaw-dropping offer similar to that of Lionel Messi.
In May, Mbappe declared his reluctance to extend his PSG contract, which is set to expire next year. However, he expressed his desire to remain at the club for one final season. This move would allow him to become a free agent next summer and leave PSG without a transfer fee, an option that club president Nasser Al Khelaifi deemed “impossible.”
Khelaifi has given Mbappe an ultimatum of a “maximum two weeks” to decide between signing a new contract or leaving the club this summer.
Amidst the ongoing dispute, Mbappe was excluded from the PSG squad as they embarked on a pre-season tour to Asia.
As the club’s all-time leading scorer with 212 goals in 260 appearances, Mbappe remains the second most expensive player in history. He joined PSG as a teenager on a season-long loan from Monaco in August 2017, and the deal became permanent the following year in a 180-million-euro ($200 million) agreement.
