Repton Dubai launches first Nikon Creative Center in UAE

United Arab Emirates: Repton School Dubai, in partnership with Nikon, a world leader in digital cameras, precision optics and photo imaging technology, today launched the region’s first Nikon Creative Centre in a school in the region, dedicated to advancing student content creation and creative exploration. To further enhance students’ creative skills, this unique center will explore applications of photography, videography and more.

The dedicated Nikon space on the Nad Al Sheba campus includes a podcast area, an unboxing station, an isometric drawing station and a green screen. Equipped with lights, backdrops and Nikon cameras, the state-of-the-art space provides a unique space where students can explore and improve their creative skills. The Nikon Creative Center, accommodating 15 students at a time, was inaugurated by Nikon’s senior leadership team including Narendra Menon, Managing Director of Nikon Middle East, John Young, General Manager of Nikon Marketing Asia, and Manager Jessica Fong in Nikon Singapore. The opening ceremony was also attended by the UAE’s first female wildlife photographer, Suaad Al Suwaidi.

The Creative Space also includes a state-of-the-art innovation lab that provides students with the latest technology, including cutting-edge Apple iMacs with industry-standard Adobe suites for editing video, integrating visual effects, designing animations, and editing photos.

Repton students also have access to the Innovation Lab as part of their daily coding and STEM project curriculum. The high-tech studio space is currently open to Reptonians in Years 7 to 13 and hosts workshops for young students in Years 5 and 6. The dedicated Nikon Creative Center will also host masterclasses and creative workshops for the wider Repton community. United Arab Emirates.

The Reptonians have previously participated in the “Motion Blur”-themed Nikon Photography ECA. In this training, students obtained unique light trails with slow shutter speeds, while another student used light to draw trails in the background.

As part of an ongoing partnership with Nikon, Repton Dubai will offer students a range of exciting learning activities offered by Nikon. These include holding educational sessions led by Nikon. The Nad Al Sheba campus will also host an in-house photography competition with a jury of Nikon experts. In addition, excellent schools will host educational Nikon Kids Club workshops open to all children in the wider Dubai community. To enhance creative skills across the education ecosystem, Repton Dubai will host curated masterclasses and workshops for parents and students across the wider Dubai community in the coming months at the Nikon Creative Hub.
