reservoir Media has entered into a joint venture with American Idol producer 19 Entertainment, originally founded by Simon Fuller in 1985.
Through the relationship between Reservoir and 19 Entertainment, sony Pictures Television aims to sign new publishing deals with contestants in the long-running series.
Reservoir will work on developing their songwriting with the support of the company’s creative and marketing teams.
The companies will also work with 19 Entertainment’s label partners, BMG.
American Idol is currently in its sixth and 21st season on ABC.
The show stars Emmy Award-winning host and producer Ryan Seacrest and superstar judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie,
Previous winners and contestants on the show include Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson and more.In all, American Idol contestants have been nominated for more than 50 Grammy Awards, with more than 450 No. 1s billboard Charts and over 95 gold records.
