[ad_1]

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a significant increase in the number of transactions, users and revenue streams conducted through its digital channels last year compared to 2021.

RTA provides digital services with a focus on launching smart applications and new services and features through various channels in 2022.

A notable example is a vehicle buying and selling service that allows customers to make a purchase or sale without being physically present. The service won the ‘UAE Innovation’ award in the government transaction automation category.

“In 2022, we will achieve 814 million digital transactions, up from 676 million in 2021, representing a strong growth rate of 20%. Furthermore, last year’s revenue totaled AED 3.5 billion (US$ 952 million), compared with 10% growth in the previous year,” said Mattar Al Tayer, RTA Director General and Chairman of the Executive Board.

The number of registered users surged 30% to 1.3 million users, while the number of in-app transactions rose 197% to 3.7 million transactions. ’ said Al Tayer.

According to him, the adoption of agile management techniques in digitalization projects contributed greatly to the positive results.

“This is due to departmental communication, quick adaptation to technology trends and the setting of an ambitious set of targets. The S’hail app was used to plan more than 20 million public transport journeys, an increase of 174% compared to 2021. Additionally, the number of app users has increased by 73% when compared to the past two years,” said Al Tayer.

The parking service also rolled out several enhancements, including the option to pay for parking with Apple Pay, which has completed more than 2.2 million transactions since launch.

To increase customer transparency, improvements include notifying customers of free parking days during holidays. In addition, the RTA has also introduced a feature that allows users to instantly access their vehicle registration card for virtual display upon request by adding the vehicle registration information to the “Apple Pass” wallet.trade arab news agency
