As part of its continued expansion of international routes, AD Ports Group’s SAFEEN Feeders has officially launched its UAE-Red Sea service to all customers, including Fujairah Terminals and Jeddah, following successful cargo distribution on the route.
The Red Sea Route will provide a direct connection between Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa Port and Port Sudan, home to Sudan’s main seaport and the source of 90% of the country’s international trade. It will provide the fastest transit times to these important trade hubs via AD Ports Group’s Fujairah Terminal on the UAE’s east coast and Jeddah Port on the west coast of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Additionally, with the support of MICCO Logistics, part of AD Ports Group, which provides freight forwarding and end-to-end logistics solutions, customers of the service can deliver last-mile delivery to recipient locations across the UAE.
Khalifa Port will serve as a major transshipment hub, while the addition of the Fujairah terminal will provide a much-needed stop on the UAE’s east coast, reducing the need to transship goods by road. Importers and exporters will save significant transit time by using the direct route, which is four times faster than alternative transshipment services that can take up to 30 days.
Captain Ammar Mubarak Al Shaiba, Acting Chief Executive Officer, AD Ports Group Maritime Cluster and SAFEEN Group, said: “The Red Sea Route reflects the wise vision of UAE leaders to strengthen ties between sibling countries through trade and development. By connecting Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa and Port Sudan, as well as Fujairah and Jeddah, we are connecting four major regional trade hubs and significantly reducing transit times for businesses along the route.
