Canadian actress Samantha Weinstein has died at the age of 28. Relatives shared on social media that the actor played Heather in the 2013 horror flick remake Carrie She voiced various cartoons and died after a long battle with cancer.

“Sam passed away at 11:25am on May 14 surrounded by loved ones at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto,” the Instagram post read, showing a photo of Weinstein smiling edited to look like he was floating Same in the galaxy. “After two and a half years of cancer treatment, and a lifetime of jet-setting around the world, voicing tons of cartoon animals, making music, and knowing life better than most, she’s embarking on her next adventure.”

In October 2022, Weinstein tied the knot with husband Michael Knutson amid his cancer battle.

The couple recently traveled to Japan for a belated honeymoon, which Weinstein announced earlier this month.

“It’s Japan time everyone!! This will be the first of many yyyy posts in Japan during our honeymoon! 🎌💕” Weinstein wrote. “We were flying FIRST CLASS BABY!!! The champagne was flowing and they served this soup, I swear to God, the soup was made from the tears of children. Actually, the first time I slept on a plane like real Same as the one – a bit like sleeping in a car seat on a plane that keeps falling all the way down, but when I woke up, it was less than 2 hours before we landed and I felt amazing. Worth the 13 hours of jet lag 😪”

Weinstein, who previously wrote about being diagnosed with a rare ovarian cancer at age 25, shared that she met her future husband a week after her diagnosis.

“Having cancer was the worst thing that ever happened to me, but in the weirdest way, it was also the best thing,” She shared in Jul 2022“I have more life and love for myself than I ever thought possible and I see every day as a gift.”
