You have spent more than half your life in franchising. Tell us why you have been attracted to franchising in the first place?

Franchising is a successful business model and is one of the world’s fastest-growing and most dynamic industries because it offers a lower-risk, structured, and more stable means of doing business. Through its tried and tested systems, marketing power, and abilities to develop entrepreneurial talents through the transfer of technology and know-how, franchising helps businesses succeed in fiercely competitive global market conditions.

In my professional opinion, franchising is the lifeblood for business growth and expansion.

So, what exactly is The Franchise Trainer™?

The Franchise Trainer™ is a capacity-building platform that offers entrepreneurial & franchise training, MSME support initiatives, and consultancy services.

Why did you start The Franchise Trainer™’s business?

After being around the block in franchising few times, I have a new mission in life now, which is to use my knowledge and experience in franchising to help people worldwide. And simply put, The Franchise Trainer™ is the perfect channel for achieving this goal.

What are The Franchise Trainer™’s main objectives?

Being in franchising for many years and by having a clear vision of how we can service or region, we have been able to identify our long-term objectives as follows:

  • Leading a significant qualitative initiative to fill up the gap in franchise education and build a thriving and sustainable franchise industry.
  • Provide a forward-thinking and structured learning experience, and offer informative and comprehensive franchise training tracks and consultancy services in Arabic and English, designed to allow for the smooth transfer of our foundation of knowledge, thus, spurring the industry’s growth.
  • Provide the most effective and efficient personalized franchise coaching experience to our clients.
  • Support MSMEs’ growth and contribute to entrepreneurs’ capacity building and skill development.
  • Enable home-based business/productive families to enhance their opportunities for better income and improved living standards.
  • Offer innovative and effective franchise consultancy services to support our clients in reaching their organizational and financial goals.
  • Supporting job creation/nationalization plans and growing the number of low start-up franchise businesses.
  • Empower female business owners for unleashing their leadership in franchising.
  • Building a foundation for a sustainable franchise model for maintaining the integrity of the vulnerable groups in society by owning a Nano Franchise™.

We are making little steps every day in achieving our ultimate goals and we do the things that only endorse these values.

Sary Hamway, What do you feel is the biggest strength of your company right now?

Over the years, we have been recognized for being credible franchise consultants because we only give the most honest advice to our clients. This fact was highlighted by receiving several regional and international awards and recognition regionally and internationally.

What was the path your company took to get to where you are today?

Over the course of time, we have provided specialized franchise training courses in English & Arabic and worked with governmental & semi-governmental firms and NPOs in various countries. Our purpose was and still is to develop and execute plans for utilizing franchising as a means of economic growth through supporting small & micro business development, transfer of know-how, and nationalization of jobs.

Sary Hamway, What have been the biggest challenges you’ve had to overcome?

During economic downturns, the franchise industry at large gets affected. This has been a big challenge that we tried to overcome through working patiently and effectively to support our clients in these difficult times.

Give us one word that describes you the best.

Disciplined. Discipline is the one virtue that creates a sense of control and power over one’s course in life.

What makes you excited about Mondays?

On Mondays, all my clients, associates, and franchise professionals over the world’s various time zones roll up their sleeves and are ready to work.

What do you value most about your culture and vision?

I come from a very rich culture that advocates some of the best values and ethics. But, one major value which I live by is “Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood®”, which is the 5th habit of DR. STEPHEN R. COVEY’s book, the & habits of Highly Effective People.

Tell us about a project that forced you to be innovative and creative.

Creativity comes with each and every project. You just need to ask yourself, “How can I make this one better?” Therefore, some brilliant ideas will come to you and one of them may change the world around you.

What are your company’s strategies, and how do they stand unique from your competitors?

The Franchise Trainer™ offers more specialized and focused consultancy programs that are absolutely unique in the marketplace. Our programs bring value-added support to our clients for the most feasible and functional franchise systems.

What are the key values that helped you overcome the roadblocks/challenges in your career?

For many years I have been through the process of establishing my values. Eventually, I have identified them and I live by them every minute of the day. They are as follows:
