In a statement posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), the Saudi embassy in Lebanon urged its citizens to promptly leave the country and refrain from approaching areas with armed clashes. The specific regions to avoid were not mentioned by the kingdom.
The Saudi embassy emphasized the importance of complying with the travel ban to Lebanon, as stated in their advisory. Similarly, Kuwait issued an early advisory urging its citizens in Lebanon to remain vigilant and avoid areas with security disturbances. However, they didn’t mandate immediate departure from the country.
On August 1, the United Kingdom updated its travel advice, recommending against all but essential travel to certain parts of Lebanon’s south near the Palestinian camp of Ain el-Hilweh.
This camp, the largest of 12 Palestinian camps in Lebanon, hosts approximately 80,000 Palestinian refugees out of up to 250,000 refugees in the country, according to the United Nations’ agency for refugees from Palestine.
