Saudi Arabia probes Amazon warehouse abuses

Saudi Arabia is conducting an investigation into the conditions for migrant workers at Amazon warehouses in the kingdom. The human resources and social development ministry denounced labor abuse and exploitation as “unacceptable” and stated that any form of such abuse is being comprehensively investigated by relevant Saudi authorities.

Amnesty International recently reported poor living conditions, safety risks, and wage theft experienced by Amazon workers in Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi government has taken measures to combat human trafficking and has implemented legislation and policies to protect workers. Amazon is working with third-party vendors to address the issues raised in the report.
