“Yes,” Johnson replied with a laugh, referring to her first husband, whom she was married to from 2008 to 2011, “We haven’t been married for very long, but we were married when I first met you. “

Despite their divorce, Johnson doesn’t appear to have any ill will toward the now-married Reynolds blake livelyWhen Paltrow gushed, “We love good Ryan Reynolds in our family,” Johnson replied, “He’s a good guy.”

She married Roman Dauriac in 2014 after Johnson divorced Reynolds. The couple have a daughter Rose, now eight, but announced their split in 2017.

Johnson was then with her current husband, Colin Jost; them get married 2020 and welcome their sonCosmo, August 2021. In the podcast, Johnson reflects on what she’s learned from past marriages and how they’ve positively impacted her current one.

“I’d probably never be ready for a relationship like I had with Colin at various times in my life because I wasn’t willing to set my own boundaries,” she said. “I didn’t know, not just what I wanted, Not yet knowing what I need from others.”

Johnson notes that she has learned from her partner that “you need to have certain fundamental things in your personality.”

“It’s hard to be in a relationship anyway because you have to compromise all the time, and sometimes your life separates and then they come back together and so on and so forth,” she said. “But I never realized, ‘Oh, this is really important to me, I need to be with someone who is compassionate. That’s the essential trait that has to be.'”

Figuring this out is “a necessity for longevity,” Johnson said.

“There will be disagreements or ups and downs, or you do different things at different times, blah, blah, blah, but I think identifying those things was a game-changer for me,” she said. “…you’re wrapped up in something shiny and attractive about someone—whatever that might be, whether they’re sexy or hot—and really attractive in a different way.”

“Checking out those essential traits that are essential to you isn’t the sexiest thing to do, but I think that’s why I was working with Colin at the time,” Johnson added. “I was finally able to step back and really respect myself for what those things were and accept it.”
