Sea World Abu Dhabi, the upcoming sea life theme park due to open on May 23, 2023, has revealed exciting details about four of its eight immersive realms. These areas include Abu Dhabi Ocean, One Ocean, Rocky Point and MicroOcean and are designed to tell part of an inspiring story of the interconnectedness of life on Earth to our One Ocean and the commitment to protect our planet.
The journey begins at Abu Dhabi Ocean, where guests can enjoy waterfalls, palm trees, desert greenery, Emirati architecture and regional music. The park’s education team will share with visitors about 30 species of marine life native to the UAE, such as sea snakes, sea turtles and dugongs. Here, guests can also interact with crustaceans, sharks and rays in four touch pools. The Kingdom also hosts two fascinating shows at the Al Naham Theater and the Abu Dhabi Souks, telling fascinating stories of the Arabian Gulf’s rich history and stunning waters, where guests can shop for souvenirs at the traditional markets. Dine at Matbakh Ummi, which serves authentic Emirati cuisine, or head to Dallat Al Bahr for aromatic Arabic coffee, or freshly fried dough pastries from Lugaima.
The next stop is One Ocean, the park gateway to explore all other areas of SeaWorld Abu Dhabi. In One Ocean, guests will witness One Epic Ocean, a must-see show that uses immersive multimedia, an elaborate fleet of drones and spatial audio, with 360-degree screens positioned at approximately 15 meters -A sea boundary has a radius of one meter. The show follows a young Emirati woman’s adventures in the Arabian Gulf, sparking an epic journey through one of the most stunning marine environments on Earth, swimming alongside species of all sizes, ultimately sharing the park’s Core message; “We are connected to the ocean and the ocean connects us all.” The field also houses the Animal Care Centre, a state-of-the-art facility with cutting-edge veterinary equipment and technology, developed according to internationally recognized animal welfare organizations The best practices and standards provide the highest standards of animal welfare.
After an ocean, guests can visit Rocky Point, a beautiful sheltered cove where seals and sea lions can be seen resting on rocks and swimming in their stunning surroundings. The field employs state-of-the-art technology such as the Advanced Animal Lighting System (AALS) that reproduces night/day and seasonal light cycles like those found in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Designed to provide an enriching experience for sea lions and seals, the dynamic habitats feature spaces where a variety of fish and animals can play, hide and rest, providing them with the stimulation and comfort they need to thrive. Guests can also watch a sea lion show at the Rocky Point Amphitheater and indulge in an assortment of hot, fresh-baked pretzels at Pretzel Point, admiring the sights and sounds of their wondrous habitat.
Finally, guests can venture into MICROOCEAN, designed just for kids, to experience the vital role of some of the ocean’s smallest inhabitants through engaging educational interactions, dynamic experiments and fun rides such as the Kelp Climb and Explorer’s Sea Base. In this whimsical kingdom, children can experience the life of plankton and learn about the marine ecosystem.
In addition, visitors can participate in the S·E·A Guardian Games, Sea World Abu Dhabi’s full park game, to participate in interactive and educational challenges in various fields. Winners will receive unique rewards as they progress along the way to become S·E·A
