This week, the actor sat down with ET’s Ash Crossan and his co-stars Justice Smith and Briana Middleton in the upcoming thriller sharper, He’s openly about starring alongside Ford in the upcoming film thunderbolt team movie.
Ford will join the MCU as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, replacing the late William Hurt, who played a supporting role from 2008 until his death in March 2022, appearing in The The Incredible Hulk, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and black widow.
When asked what excites him the most thunderboltStein quipped, “See if he’s in the movie,” referring to Ford.
“I really hope so,” he continued. “Having Harrison Ford there could be the movie itself, but, yeah, I haven’t seen the script yet.”

Production is rumored to begin this summer, and as Stein notes, things are “still a work in progress.”
“But I think it’s going to be fun,” he added. “I’m really excited. [There’s] A lot of great people that I hadn’t worked with before, and some came back. “
exist sharper, Stan stars as Max, a reckless con artist who enlists Sandra (Middleton), a broke drug addict, in his scheme. Through non-linear storytelling, audiences embark on a twisting journey of intrigue where no one is who they seem.
“It’s just one of those scripts that you’re reading, and every time you seem to get an impression of what’s going on, it changes instantly,” the actor commented. “It’s funny from a performance standpoint because it’s kind of like, ‘Okay, okay, who are these people?’ … Everyone’s weirdly bringing out a different version of the character from the other. Good or bad, depending on who they interact with.”
It’s also a nice change of pace for Stan at the massive scale of the MCU.
“All the wars happen subtly in the dialogue and between the characters in a way that’s really subtle, but it’s very interesting because it really brings the audience into it,” he reflects. “It makes you want to be a part of it.”
In addition to Smith and Middleton, sharper Actor icons Julianne Moore and John Lithgow also play Max’s mother and her new boyfriend, with Stein noting that both stars were “very generous” on set.
“John has played some of the craziest, darkest characters, like, Intense, and I kept looking at him and being like, ‘I’m going to be sad, like, because he’s so good,'” he recalls. “But then the cameras started rolling and he could really hand it over to you.”
sharper It opens in select theaters on February 10 and premieres on Apple TV+ on February 17.
