Shania Twain isn’t keeping her “very candid lyrics” on her upcoming album.
Last week, the “You’re Still The One” hit singer opened a “new chapter” in her music career with the lead single “Waking Up Dreaming,” which she jokingly called her first since “Now” in 2017. The album was designed to cheer people up and make them dance.
Speaking to The Sun’s bizarre column, she said: “I’m really happy to cheer people up.
“This album is very lively and I’m very candid about my lyrics, so it’s not a fluffy lyrical album. It’s a happy album.
“I’ve been through a very productive songwriting period of the pandemic, and even though we’ve been isolated, it’s almost like I want to cheer myself up, and that’s just showing in the music. Too good to dance.”
Elsewhere, the 57-year-old star shared how she initially turned down Harry Styles’ offer to duet with him at Coachella in April because she wasn’t close to California , but acknowledged that the show ended up being “to us all.”
The pair sang a cover of her hit “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” as well as “You’re Still The One” by the Indio Empire Polo Club.
She said: “Harry and I texted and he said, ‘Would you like to come and sing with me at Coachella?’ I said, ‘Well, I’m not near LA, I’m really far away right now’.
“We went back and forth like that, and then I didn’t do it, and then got closer to it, and he said, ‘I really think you should do it on the first weekend, please do it’.
“There’s no big deal, it ends up being a huge and lasting moment for all of us.”
