Sharjah Launches Gaza Education Campaign to Support Students
Sharjah has launched a new Gaza education campaign to help Palestinian students continue their studies despite the difficult conditions in the Gaza Strip.
Sharjah Charity International (SCI), working with Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, announced the initiative on August 19. The campaign will provide educational supplies to students and support educational institutions in Gaza.
As part of the campaign, more than 60 tonnes of school and office supplies have been sent from Sharjah International Airport to Al Arish in Egypt. The supplies are planned to be delivered to Gaza after reaching Egypt.
The campaign comes as many children in Gaza continue to face serious challenges in accessing education. Organisers said the initiative aims to help students maintain their connection with learning and continue their education despite the humanitarian situation.
The campaign was launched as part of the UAE‘s wider humanitarian efforts to support Palestinians in Gaza. Officials involved in the initiative described education as an important part of helping young people rebuild their future.
Sharjah Charity International has also highlighted its wider support for Gaza. According to the organisation, its assistance for people in Gaza has exceeded Dh20 million through its relief efforts.
The latest initiative puts education alongside food, medical and other humanitarian assistance, with the aim of helping children receive basic supplies needed for learning.
