Sharjah Police Recover Stolen Prayer Beads Within 24 Hours
Sharjah Police have recovered stolen amber prayer beads worth more than $100,000 (around Dh367,000) within 24 hours of receiving a theft report. Two suspects were arrested in connection with the case.
The case began when a Chinese national advertised a collection of valuable amber prayer beads for sale on social media. A person contacted the seller and expressed interest in purchasing the entire collection. The suspects then arranged to meet the seller to inspect the beads.
According to police, the suspects deceived the seller during the meeting and took possession of the valuable collection before fleeing the location. After receiving the theft report, teams from the Sharjah Police Criminal Investigations Department immediately began investigating the case.
Officers collected evidence and analysed available data to identify the suspects. Police also used modern security technology to track their movements. The investigation quickly led officers to the suspects in a neighbouring emirate.
