His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, celebrated his 62nd birthday on Saturday, March 11.
On 14 May, the Federal Supreme Council unanimously elected Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed as President of the United Arab Emirates.
The unassuming president held the title of Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi until the death of his brother, the late President Sheikh Khalifa, in 2022.
Sheikh Mohammed, born on March 11, 1961, has also played an active role in the development of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi for more than three decades, witnessing rapid economic and social transformation. Sheikh Mohammed is known to have long been the guiding force behind many initiatives that have helped to support and strengthen the security of the emirate of Abu Dhabi and drive its economic growth and diversification.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed is the third son of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “Father of the Nation”.

Military Life and Combat Helicopter Pilots
Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was educated in schools in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi until the age of 18. In 1979 he joined the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst where he trained in armor, helicopter flying, tactical flying and paratroopers.
His training included basic armor courses and basic flying courses, helicopter and tactical aircraft, and parachutist courses. His Royal Highness has experience flying Gazelle Helicopters Armor and Fleet, Flight School and Aviation Academy.

He chairs the UAE Center for Strategic Studies, where he oversees the publication of significant academic research and analysis on key issues of relevance to the UAE and the region.
