On Thursday, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, visited the 16th edition of Art Dubai, which will be held at Madinat Jumeirah from March 1-5 .
During his visit, the Ruler of Dubai highlighted the UAE’s commitment to creating an environment that fosters creativity and supports artistic talent from around the world to thrive.
The art fair is one of the key events of Dubai Art Season, Dubai Culture’s annual art celebration held in February and March each year.
During the tour, Sheikh Mohammed was briefed on the exhibition’s pivotal role in cementing Dubai’s position as a leading cultural and arts hub.
He was also briefed on this year’s extensive program, which included many workshops, more than 50 presentations and a diverse educational program.
Highlights this year include the Global Art Forum, the first Middle East edition of the Christie’s Art + Technology Summit, and a new event in partnership with the Art Business Conference.
Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Governor of DIFC, Essa Kazim, organizer of Dubai Arts Festival, Hala al-Badri, Director General of Dubai Arts and Culture Authority, and some senior officials.
Art Dubai has galleries from more than 40 countries spread across four main sections: Contemporary, Modern, Bawwaba (portal in Arabic) and Art Dubai Digital, including 24 galleries in Dubai.
