Salt Lake City (June 20, 2023) – Smiths Entertainment Group (SEG) – parent company of the Utah Jazz – today announced the formation of a new production company, SEG Media, which will provide the Jazz with unprecedented access across a variety of platforms, including Utah Jazz fans nowhere Watch games away from home Access other unique team content starting with the 2023-24 NBA season through a combination of over-the-air television and premium subscription streaming services.

“Our top priority has always been to provide the best fan experience possible. The way we broadcast, we began exploring all options to provide fans with the most reliable access to Jazz games,” said Ryan Smith, Chairman of Smith Entertainment Group and Utah Jazz Governor. “This new approach is one of the most significant investments we have made since acquiring the franchise, as it allows us to provide Utah Jazz games to all of the more than 3.3 million Utahans.”

SEG Media ushers in a new era of content creation, the organization’s first foray into media and broadcasting. Beginning in October 2023, a new premium, Utah Jazz-branded, subscription-based streaming platform will offer all available Jazz games, as well as unprecedented access to teams, front offices and corporate management through exclusive behind-the-scenes footage. Full details of Jazz’s DTC offerings will be announced in the coming months.

Utah Jazz telecasters Craig Bolerjack, Thurl Bailey and Holly Rowe will continue to cover the game, while Michael Smith and Alema Harrington will host the pregame and postgame TV shows.

The Jazz have granted the rights to Sinclair Broadcasting Group, which owns and operates KJZZ, to broadcast all available Jazz games on the station, and fans should expect plenty of coverage of the team from KUTV (Channel 2), Sinclair’s in-market CBS affiliate. reports. Jazz will also work with the KJZZ and KUTV teams to distribute additional jazz-related programming produced by SEG Media throughout the year.

SEG and the Utah Jazz have received all necessary approvals from the National Basketball Association and have received Endeavor/WME Sports’ proposal for a new direction. Financial terms were not disclosed.
