Beginning as part of a RadioShack skit, Thompson, using “shack radioA substitute for “as”Saturday Night Live,” Said, “Just a minute before we leave for Christmas. As some of you know, this is Cecily’s last day at RadioShack after eight years.”
Strong chimed in, “Well, I’ve been here 11 times.”
Thompson then quipped: “I know, eight of them are unbelievable.”
Thompson went on to joke, “Honestly, I don’t think RadioShack could have survived this long without Cecily. Every time she comes to work, she has a new character, or a new accent, or a new impression, and it just blows your mind. Leave. Her performance is so powerful and fun and reminds you why you love working at RadioShack in the first place. I know I shouldn’t say that as your boss, but I love you, Cecily. “
Personality-wise, Thompson joked that RadioShack employees had fundraised a “casual Elvis Presley.”Then Butler came on stage, together with Strong and others saturday night live cast, sang the classic song “Blue Christmas” as a farewell to Strong and her time on the show.
As for what’s next for Strong, she currently stars in Apple TV+ comedy series Schmidt Garton! beside Keegan Michael Keythe second season will premiere next year.
