Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson has graduated from high school.
The 17-year-old reality star became known around the world as a beauty contestant when she began appearing on the TLC series “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” – which ended in 2017 after a total of four seasons – But graduated this week from Wilkinson County High School in McIntyre, Georgia.
Her mother, Mama June Shannon, posted a video on Instagram in which she can be heard screaming and cheering: “I’m so proud of her, she’s our 2023 graduate, yes we Been cheering!” (sic)
Alana’s sister Lauryn, 23, re-shared the video, noting in the caption that she was “surprised” to see her sister graduate from high school and that she “overcame all odds” “‘How Far Has Come’ Pays Tribute”
She wrote: “To say I’m proud is an understatement. As a witness to the next chapter, I’m amazed how much you’ve grown, how beautiful your soul is and most importantly how far you’ve come despite all odds Far. It’s a true honor to hear your name called and watch you walk. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next chapter of your life. Please always know that I’m your biggest fan, forever and ever Will scream out loud for you. I love you Lana!” (sic)
Late last year, Alana explained that she “felt ready” to enter her senior year of high school, explaining that she wanted to go on to college so she could study to be a neonatal nurse.
She told “Entertainment Tonight”: “I was so ready for my senior year. I definitely want to go to college full time because I want to be a newborn nurse. Of course. I love little babies!”
