Sunil Narinthe bowling all-rounder from the West Indies, has been named ILT20 league captain for the Abu Dhabi Knights. The ILT20 league will start in the UAE on January 13 of the following year. In the first round, six teams will participate.
Players from the West Indies including Andre Russell, Akeal Hosein, Raymon Reifer, Kennar Lewis and Ravi Rampaul will join Narine. Additionally, international players such as Jonny Bairstow, Seekuge Prasanna, Lahiru Kumara, Charith Asalanka, Paul Stirling, Ali Khan, Brandon Glover and Colin Ingram have all played for Team Abu Dhabi.

Sunil Narine looks forward to captaincy
The 34-year-old claims the leadership role is a “new challenge” for him as it requires him to think about how the entire squad is run.
“I’m very happy to be the captain of the Abu Dhabi Knights. It’s a new challenge because now I have to think about the functioning of our entire team and not just focus on my game or my four passes,” Sunil Narin said in a statement.

“It’s something I’m really looking forward to. I grew up on the Knight Riders and the Knight Riders grew on me, so it’s like a family. They have teams everywhere and I love being a part of them. I play at the Emirates Played a lot of cricket so I know what it’s like there.

The Abu Dhabi Knights will face Dubai Capitals in the opening game of the inaugural ILT20 on January 12, with the 34-match finale of the six leagues scheduled for February 12. This will coincide with the opening of the Big Bash League (BBL) in Australia and the SA20 League in South Africa.
Between 2012 and 2022, Sunil Narin, who has ties to the Kolkata Cavaliers, played a total of 148 Indian Premier League games for the team. He has 152 wickets, the highest being 5/19.
