Sunjay Sudhir Hosts International Gem and Jewellery Show in Dubai – News

The Indian Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) inaugurates the 2nd International Gem and Jewellery Show (IGJS) in Dubai in the presence of Sunjay Sudhir, Ambassador of India to the UAE; Laila Suhail, Chief Executive Officer, Strategic Alliances and Partnerships, Dubai Economy and Tourism Officer; Kirit Bansali, Vice Chairman, GJEPC; Chandu Siroya, Vice Chairman, Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group (DGJG); Nilesh Kothari, Convenor, International Exhibition – GJEPC; and Chokshi, Milan, co-convening International Exhibition – GJEPC and other people.

The show will take place on November 10 at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City in Dubai. IGJS Dubai is supported by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Government of India and the Indian Embassy in Dubai, in partnership with Sequel, IGI and Suntech Business Solutions.

The UAE has been a key market for Indian gems and jewellery exports, accounting for 14% of its total G&J exports in FY 2021-22; and it gained further traction with the release of the India-UAE CEPA. Platforms like Dubai’s IGJS will further help members of both countries understand their respective strengths and take advantage of the Indo-UAE CEPA.

Another advantage is that the UAE is India’s gateway to the WANA (West Asia and North Africa) region, which helps to strengthen trade links with other GCC members such as Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

IGJS is a curated exhibition with a global focus dedicated to providing international buyers with high quality ‘Made in India’ jewellery. This year IGJS Dubai will host over 350 pre-registered international visitors from over 25 countries. A range of products were on display at the fair, including solid gold jewellery, diamond and gem-set jewellery, and more. IGJS Dubai is GJEPC’s second consecutive first indie show in Dubai.

Sudhir said: “I am delighted to learn that a large number of top Indian manufacturers are presenting their Indian-made gems and jewellery products to an influx of global buyers – over 350 buyers from over 25 countries. This reflects the recent signing of The spirit of the India-UAE CEPA and the persistence of Dubai as an important business platform and exhibition. The Indian gem and jewellery industry is one of the largest contributors to the global market and enjoys a similar position at home, contributing to the Indian economy significant contribution.”

Vipul Shah, Chairman of GJEPC, said: “Today, India stands at the top of the jewelry pyramid, and the IGJS show showcases the depth of product design that will surely delight the global audience. After India-UAE CEPA, 2022 compared to the previous year. India’s overall gem and jewellery exports to the UAE increased by 12.36% to US$2.9 billion between April and September. IGJS is an important platform for building trade relationships and taking advantage of the trade opportunities offered by CEPA.”

Siroya said: “We welcome every jewellery maker in the world to come and showcase their jewellery and sell it to a global audience. Dubai is a world jewellery destination as we have over 195 nationalities living in the UAE. Jewelers here adapt Well done, we cater to every taste in the world. India plays an important role in supplying jewellery to the UAE.”

Speaking on the occasion, Suhail said: “I would like to thank GJEPC India for organising IGJS in Dubai, which is the right place to organise a show of this status. As the Dubai economy and tourism sector, we will continue our efforts to position Dubai as a hub for business and investment. main destination.”

Bhansali said: “In terms of global gem and jewellery exports, India is a world leader in diamond manufacturing, coloured gemstones, gold jewellery, silver jewellery and the emerging laboratory-grown diamonds. Collections made with handcrafted techniques and jewellery made with the latest technology to appeal to jewellers in the international market.”

“The Indian Jewellery Expo (IJEX) Centre in Dubai is expected to be fully operational and 98% complete. The centre will be a permanent one-stop destination for international buyers to source Indian jewellery in Dubai. The 365-day exhibition will promote specific Category ‘Made in India’ gems and jewellery, divided into four seasons, each lasting three months,” added Bhansali.

Kothari said: “India’s contribution to the global gem and jewellery supply chain is intrinsic. GJEPC, through its IGJS Dubai trade show, connects diverse stakeholder groups in a world-class environment. The great success of the trade show format is that the participants a major confidence booster.”

Chokshi said: “The two countries have created a trade-friendly environment, which will lead to unprecedented growth in bilateral trade between India and the UAE in the coming years. The Indian gem and jewellery industry has already benefited from the CEPA agreement that came into effect on May 1. “Through IIBX, India is becoming the largest consumer of gold in the UAE.”
