Tadweer, Sulo to boost sustainable waste management in capital

The Abu Dhabi Waste Management Company (Tadweer) has signed an agreement with Sulo, one of the world’s largest producers of waste containers and smart waste solutions, to drive sustainable waste management in Abu Dhabi and beyond.

Under the terms of the agreement, the parties will support the development of an integrated waste management system in Abu Dhabi and explore the use of recycled materials in manufacturing.

The partnership agreement aims to support the UAE towards a circular economy by providing waste pre-collection services in the UAE and other MENA markets and utilizing the latest technologies.

Eng Ali Al Dhaheri, CEO of Tadweer, said: “The agreement with Sulo is in line with our commitment to maintain a sustainable and clean environment in the UAE by partnering with leading entities in waste management. To enhance sustainable practices across Abu Dhabi by utilizing and reducing and diverting waste from landfill. Tadweer is actively implementing a future-proof waste management strategy in line with the UAE’s sustainable development agenda, such as deploying world-class waste management infrastructure, streamlined waste collection solutions and recycling services. Tadweer will continue its on-the-ground activities in Abu Dhabi to foster and strengthen a culture of recycling and processing waste among communities and entities.

Recently, Tadweer signed five operating contracts worth more than AED 2 billion (US$ 540 million) during the EcoWASTE 2023 exhibition and forum. These partnerships will play a key role in establishing the UAE as a leader in environmental protection and resource management, and support the country in creating a sustainable future for new generations. — trade arab news agency
