Take amazing pictures, that’s the difference between the James Webb Telescope and its forerunners

[ad_1]

James Webb is considered the most advanced scientific telescope in history.

NATIONAL WORLD NEWS, JAKARTA – Recently, NASA released the first images using the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). The photos look simply fantastic.

JWST has been in orbit for about 8 months in the shortest expected 10 years. Because of the wealth of images and information NASA has gained from the telescope, the JWST is clearly the most advanced science telescope in history, and the importance of its work is unmatched.

The telescope has several notable differences and improvements from its famous predecessor, the Hubble. JWST expands its unique capabilities as a telescope. In this way, it becomes easy to extract phenomenal data from the unknown universe.

Here are nine differences between JWST and Hubble:

1. Various tasks

JWST stands for cosmic heights and science and technology, so it is understandable that some people underestimate the importance of the Hubble telescope. When comparing the two, it’s important to remember that the missions of the two telescopes are different.

Hubble is designed to capture distant stars and galaxies, but keep the telescope close to Earth’s orbit. The JWST, on the other hand, is designed for long-term exposure and space capture to obtain data on galaxies separated by light-years.

2. Wavelength

According to NASA, JWST specializes in infrared wavelengths (longer than visible light wavelengths), while Hubble specializes in ultraviolet wavelengths (longer than visible light wavelengths).

3. Mirror size

According to NASA specifications, Hubble’s mirrors are made of glass and coated with aluminum. It weighs about a ton (828 kg). While JWST mirrors are primarily made of beryllium, a lightweight yet durable material, beryllium is too light for a very large mirror, which weighs 46 pounds (21 kg).

These mirrors were apparently built to suit the telescope’s mission. They also show clear signs of technological progress over time. JWST mirrors are light, but they have more benefits.

4. Class time

Hubble’s low-Earth orbit was originally expected to be only 15 years, but as it entered its 33rd year, Page said Astronomy Network Note that he may have many years left. This may be due to its service in long-term orbit, as well as its relatively near-Earth protection.

JWST was sent further into space with an expected orbital period of 10 years. After just eight months in space, no one knows if the JWST will last as long as Hubble.

5. Visible distance

The Hubble Telescope took some of the most dramatic space photos of its time. Despite these achievements, JWST’s first images outperform competitors in terms of duration and spatial detail. The latest structure of the JWST allows it to search deep into space, which is said to return “baby galaxies”.

Basically, the JWST photo is a step further than in the past, and the farther the telescope can see, the older the star or galaxy is. It may be rich material, but JWST’s first image is simply stunning.

6. Placement

The biggest difference between the two space science giants is their location. Hubble has been in low-Earth orbit for more than 30 years, and JWST has spent its first eight months outside Earth’s orbit. Hubble is about 570 kilometers from Earth, and JWST is more than 1 million kilometers from Earth.

7. Infrared vision

Hubble prioritizes ultraviolet vision, and its infrared vision has made significant strides in previous research. Knowing this, NASA reports that JWST is significantly further loaded with infrared technology to capture more light and better spatial reach.

With more powerful infrared vision, JWST is able to record the brightness of old galaxies and stars that Hubble may not even be able to record with its technology.

8. Nursing

Due to its low orbit, Hubble is protected by astronauts in orbit. While it may seem like a disadvantage at first when creating a JWST, it is more of an asset. The JWST is constructed in such a way that it does not require frequent maintenance, so there is no need to stop its tracks for refurbishment.

9. Scope of conclusions

Perhaps the biggest difference between the two telescopes is that Hubble is capable of capturing amazing galaxies several light-years old, while the JWST is believed by NASA to have the ability to observe some of the first galaxies and stars in existence. This is due to the huge mirror and its ability to capture light, as well as its duration in space.

JWST’s technology and discoveries could provide inspiration for other great and realistic films about space travel. Until then, people on Earth will have to be satisfied with his extraordinary work in discovering the first galaxies the universe has to offer.
