Explain the background of you and the company in detail.
I started my first Tara Rose Salon in 2015 alone, with no clue how to do it, just a clear vision and passion for it to work. Giving up was never an option for me. I wanted to create a space for people to feel amazing as well as look great – and that vision was for my staff as well as my customers! I saw a real opportunity to create a space for career development for staff, giving them purpose and helping them remove boundaries and limits they put on themselves and what they can achieve. Building people, in turn, built my business.
What are your goals?
My goal is to be known as a one-of-a-kind brand with a consistent focus on helping people look and feel amazing, building career opportunities for staff and transforming wider social perceptions of the salon industry. In addition, I want to inspire others in this industry by creating unique education programs and building people up to believe in themselves.
What do you feel is the biggest strength of yourself/company right now?
Our culture! When you are surrounded by people who want to grow and develop, powerful things happen. People now come to work with Tara Rose Salons because they want to grow and develop both as people and professionals. It creates an amazing, motivational, and positive atmosphere that our staff and clients value.
What was the path you/your company took to get to where you are today?
Well, it was a winding journey that included lots of financial risks, a relentless focus on growth and opportunities, and a commitment to be brave enough to stand out from the crowd. I am always looking for ways to improve by listening to feedback.
Why did you start (or want to be the head of) this company?
It has always been about creating a safe space for people, staff and clients — a home away from home. I hadn’t actually thought about being the head of the salon or its face in the beginning; that sense came later. Really stepping into that leadership role became one of my biggest awakenings over the last two years. The more I’ve empowered myself, the more courage I have had to step into a public-facing role as a leader, educator and community-maker.
What have been the biggest challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely, my biggest challenge has been finding my own voice and being comfortable with who I am and my vision for the company. I’m not hiding behind Tara Rose Salons anymore. Of course, I always believed in the vision but didn’t realise how I actually thought of myself and how I was expressing that by remaining invisible behind the company. Finding the confidence to not care about what others think has been the hardest journey but totally the most rewarding.
Give us one word that describes you the best.

What makes you excited about Mondays?
The chance to help, create and build opportunities for myself and the company. Each new week is a new opportunity.
What do you value most about your culture and vision?
We commit to inspiring and developing people — both our employees and the clients we serve.
Tell us about a project that forced you to be innovative and creative.
This fall, we are launching Tara Rose Academy, which will be an in-person and online space for all-around salon education at multiple levels. We’ll have courses for business owners, managers, front-of-house hairstylists and much more. I’m especially excited that our multi-level career development programs will focus on self-development and self-empowerment — not just the ‘practical’ salon skills but business skills, mindset and more.
What are the strategies of your company, and how do they stand unique from your competitors?
We want our clients to feel amazing as well, not just look amazing. Our client journey is unique; we are fully transparent with pricing, and we offer honest advice to help the client. We will never recommend a service that we feel is not right for the client. In addition we build people, which in turn builds the company.
What are the key values that helped you overcome the roadblocks/challenges in your career? Tell us something about your memorable incident in your leadership?
I have 3 key values I live by and teach my staff as well:
- Accountability: Be the best version of yourself at all times. Hold yourself accountable for your own growth.
- Passion: This is the fuel that drives you towards your goals. Keep yourself fuelled at all times!
- Development: We are all dedicated to development. We promise to push you out of your comfort zone and grow you in every way.
How do you see the company changing in two years, and how do you see yourself creating that change?
Over the next two years, I see some significant transformations. First, education will really come to the fore through our academy and online courses. This is a whole new business market for us, creating even more job opportunities through the brand.
Second, I’d like to open many more salons here in the UAE and also explore franchise or partnership opportunities. Beyond this, I would like to say: never rule out anything! My favourite quote is, “Opportunity only dances with people already on the dance floor.”
Where is your leadership going? What benefits do your clients get from your company in this competitive world?
The benefit of working with us is a more holistic approach to business: seeing how we can develop people and, through that, develop our services. We are looking at mental well-being or looking at ways to grow confidence and communication with my staff.
These things I have all struggled with in the past stopped me and held me back. When staff are really elevated in these areas, they are able to give clients so much more in their appointments.
What are the services/solutions or products offered by your company on par with the current industry standards? Tell us something about your upcoming products or services?
We offer high-quality hair and beauty services in beautiful locations around Abu Dhabi. Our salon staff are well-educated and up-to-date on all the latest techniques and trends — so you can be sure your cut, colour, balayage and more are state-of-the-art. We are also always looking for new products and services to add to our menu. Hence, it’s never the same twice when you come in!
