Raleigh, North Carolina — The second annual Raleigh Food Festival drew hundreds of people to a community event Saturday afternoon.
This free event has over 20 food trucks, various vendors and live entertainment for people to enjoy.
“The event was amazing,” said event attendee Jessica Blanche. “I love good food and music, so I knew this was the perfect place.”
Chuck Johnson, owner of WRSV Choice FM 92.1, says their mission is to bring the community together and have fun. To achieve this, they teamed up with several other organizers for an event.
“I want them to leave well fed, I want them to leave satisfied, I want them to leave with a lot of fun,” Johnson said. “It’s really something we do for families. We like to call it babies Car events. We have great music, a lot of nice people, and really good food and drink.”
The event was a showcase of local musical talent, with live performances by The New Band on the Block, Rohan Da Great, The Mack Band and special guest Slim from R&B group 112.
A portion of money earned from the event will go to a fund that helps pay for children’s lunches at public schools.
