Scheduled for completion in 2024, teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi will be an immersive and inspiring space at the intersection of art and technology, sparking curiosity, imagination and creativity in all visitors.
The latest offering in the Saadiyat Cultural District, the 17,000 sqm (GFA) teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi building is under construction, following an extensive experimental process to create an unrivaled installation unique to Abu Dhabi.
Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, Undersecretary of DCT Abu Dhabi, said: “Through the power of collaborating with DCT, Miral, teamLab and our ecosystem of contractors, we will deliver curated experiences and iconic cultural and tourism destinations that connect with the world — all of which strengthen the Saadiyat Cultural District’s position globally.”
Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, CEO of Miral, said: “The development of teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi demonstrates how Miral can contribute to the evolution of the emirate’s cultural landscape. Working with our partners, we are pioneering the use of cutting-edge immersive technology to interpret environmental phenomena, This is the basis for a curated experiential space that influences the incredible architecture around it and offers visitors a fresh perspective each time they visit. This will create a unique guest experience in Abu Dhabi that will be truly transformative, memorable and shareable.”
Additionally, Miral, in partnership with DCT Abu Dhabi, has appointed ALEC, a leading innovative construction group based in the UAE, as the main contractor for the construction of the mega project.
Visitors will be able to get in touch with teamLab’s new concept of environmental phenomena, which offers a new perspective on the world around us. Featured artworks are created and shaped by the environment that generates various phenomena, and the unique architecture provides an environment for the artworks to evolve freely and organically, as if they were living organisms.
