Backstreet is back, ok..?
Are they original? yes. Are they unique? Well, if your question specifically refers to “the only boy band from the 90s and 00s to perform at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on May 7, 2023”, then, of course, yes.
Yes, sorry, we meant yes – here’s the news that global pop royalty The Backstreet Boys are back in the UAE for a one-night only date on Yas Island as part of their DNA World Tour.
They’ve of course been to the UAE before, the last time in April 2018, when they performed back-to-back (street) shows at the Media City Souk and then in White Dubai the same night. Before that, it was 2009 at The Palladium, if you remember that place.
Tickets for the Abu Dhabi show are scheduled to go on sale at noon this Friday (24 February). If we were you, we’d be flexing those refreshing fingers, because if tickets sell out as fast as they did last time we were here, you’re going to need nimble numbers to get yourself the Backstreet bag.
Y’all can’t see, can’t you see
The Backstreet Boys rose to fame with the release of their first album in 1996, which has sold more than 130 million records. The five-member group consisting of AJ McLean, Howie D, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell enjoyed more than 25 years of worldwide success and are widely considered the most successful boy group of all time.
Their back catalog includes ’90s nostalgia such as “I Want It That Way,” “Everybody,” “Larger than Life,” and “Shape Of My Heart.”
