I’m Director of Experiential Retail Brookfield Properties I drive innovative entertainment concepts in prestigious retail locations.

I started my career in experiential marketing when I realized I was a creative, fluid problem solver with the ability to stay calm under pressure. Through live events and traveling exhibitions, I build trust and an emotional connection between clients and brands. In this role, I curate the human experience that fosters brand loyalty.

My day starts at 5:45am with Afrobeats

Start the day by playing Afrobeats as my family’s morning alarm clock. Our current jam is “Calm Down” by Rema and Selena Gomez. We kept the music on until we walked out the door.

School ends at 7:15 am

My two kids and I played a color, shape, and number game on the morning drive to school.

I go to Starbucks at 8am to get my usual drink

On the way to work, I stopped by Starbucks and bought a medium cup of coffee and a ham and cheese croissant – my habit.

I got to my office in Las Vegas by 8:30am

When I arrive at the Brookfield Properties office in Las Vegas, I check my email and organize my to-do list. My to-do list is prioritized based on project scope and timelines as well as immediate and current projects.

I have been with Brookfield since June 2019. In the morning, I have meetings with producers on the East Coast, West Coast, or sometimes overseas.We discuss the concept of experience explorewhich allows our partners to use the space within our hotel for traveling exhibitions.

I have an in-person meeting from 9:30 am to 11:30 am

I had face-to-face meetings with location-based companies that organized the traveling exhibition. Right now, I am in active dialogue with key global players about collaboration opportunities across the various IPs they manage.

We discuss not only the concept, but the operational process, licensing, scheduling, timelines, ticketing process, press release, social media promotion and all the details to ensure its successful launch.

After that, I spent a few hours catching up with the live experience

Around lunchtime, I spent a couple of hours at Brookfield Portfolio learning about field experiences.Today, it is with Fantasy Lab Las Vegasa location-based entertainment concept, is new to America.

It includes a bar and restaurant inside the Las Vegas Fashion Show, and it features an inviting multiverse filled with large-scale interactive art, mixed-reality playgrounds, and secret passageways.

I usually visit other experiences in the market after 1:30pm

While in District 15, I’ll be visiting the Illuminarium, Meow Wolf, and other experiences. I’m really excited to see firsthand how the future of entertainment is being reinvented through these futuristic venues.

3:30pm, I’m back at my desk

At my desk, I continue to work on my passion project – EXPlore Newsletter. This is a recently released quarterly publication that highlights the touring exhibition and experience industry and keeps businesses abreast of the latest news and trends.

It’s 5:40pm: Time to plan for the next day

As the day’s work draws to a close, Sarpong starts planning for the next day.

At 5:40pm, I check my calendar, organize tomorrow’s schedule, make a to-do list, and plan for the next day.

I get home at 6:00 pm

When I get home at 6:00 p.m., I finish my homework with the kids.

After the homework is done, we eat and chat

After homework and dinner, we play a fun game, share our favorite part of the day, and ask Google Assistant to applaud everyone for their winning moments.

8:30pm is bedtime for the kids

We put our kids to bed at 8:30pm with prayers, bedtime stories and a few kisses.

At 9:30pm, I head to the EOS gym for about an hour

I like to work out at night, so at 9:30pm, I’ll go to the EOS gym for about an hour. My favorite piece of exercise equipment is the Stairmaster or elliptical.

Around 11pm, I wrap up my evening with my husband
