The Dubai Chamber of Commerce recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries
The Business Federation (CE-CPLP) will enable the two organizations to share knowledge and cooperate in key areas of mutual interest to support the interests of their respective members.
The Memorandum of Understanding was held by HE Hamad Buamim, President and CEO of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, and Salimo Abdula, Chairman of CE-CPLP for the year 2021 on October 13th. Signed on the sidelines of the Africa Global Business Forumday-14day At the 2020 Dubai World Expo.
According to the terms of the agreement, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and CPLP will work together to support the post-pandemic economic recovery, open up new markets, and jointly organize business and investment events and forums to promote investment opportunities for both parties.
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce will work closely with CPLP to promote Dubai as an international trade and investment center with Dubai as a gateway for CPLP community members who are eager to establish business in the emirate or wish to explore the potential for expansion to the Middle East and North Africa.
Internationally known as the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries
Confederation of Commerce (CE-CPLP), the Confederation of Commerce represents CPLP-an international organization spanning four continents, of which Portuguese is the official language. As a forum for mutual cooperation, CPLP includes nine states and represents a market of 260 million people, of which the 100-member CPL is considered the economic and commercial pillar of CPLP.
“The signing of the memorandum of understanding will bring great opportunities for Dubai companies in the global Portuguese-speaking market. The main goal of CPLP is to increase trade and commerce among its member states, and to promote and strengthen the relationship between business associations and affiliated regional entities. , To open new doors for investors and business stakeholders in the emirate,” said President and CEO Hamad Bu Amim of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.
HE Buamim added that according to the agreement, several areas of synergy and potential cooperation opportunities have been identified to support the development of our members in Africa, ASEAN and Latin America, which are served by the international offices of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.

CPLPis was established in Lisbon, Portugal on June 4, 2004 to promote business development and cooperation in the Portuguese-speaking communities. The mission of CPLP is to open up an investment route in CPLP member states and encourage cooperation and partnership. The countries that make up the CPLP community are Portugal, Brazil, Mozambique, Angola, Cape Verde, Sao Tome and Principe, East Timor, Guinea-Bissau and the Equator of Guinea.
