Roommates, earlier this month Tiffany Haddish was arrested in Peachtree City, Georgia for allegedly driving under the influence after she fell asleep behind the wheel—and she’s opening up about it for the first time. During her recent appearance on ‘The Tonight Show,’ Tiffany Haddish addressed her recent arrest with the late night show’s host, Jimmy Fallon.
Following Jimmy Fallon gently asking her if she wanted to speak about the incident, Tiffany Haddish had this to say:
“I can say this, Jimmy … I’ve been praying to God to send me a new man. A good man. And God went ahead and sent me four. In uniform. And now I got a really great lawyer, and we’ re going to work it out. I’ve got to get my asking of things to God a little better!”
She also discussed the recent death of her grandmother, who passed just after her recent break-up with ex-boyfriend Common.
“And then, my grandma passed away, and she saved my life. That’s my heart. She was like my soulmate. So that’s been… really hard to process, all this grief. I’m definitely making something out of it. My next special is going to be about grief. And it’s going to be hilarious,” she said.
As we previously reported, Tiffany Haddish was arrested in Fayette County, Georgia after authorities say she was dozing off while in the driver’s seat.
She was arrested after Peachtree City police officers responded to a call looking for a driver who allegedly had fallen asleep at the wheel. Officers claim they spotted Tiffany’s car pulling into a neighborhood that matched the description of the vehicle in question. At the time of her arrest, cops believe she had smoked marijuana.
