TikTok creators can choose a price for their series. Content can be purchased via a direct in-video link or via the creator’s profile page. The company noted that, like all content on TikTok, video series must adhere to its community guidelines standards.

According to TikTok, Series is currently available to some creators; in the coming months, the company will open applications for others to sign up. According to a TikTok representative, for a limited time, creators will receive 100% of their series’ revenue (net of platform and processing fees); it’s unclear what the revenue split might be in the long run.

Other TikTok initiatives aimed at compensating creators include the Creator Fund, which pays creators of “innovative content” on the platform; the TikTok Creator Marketplace for brands and creators to collaborate; and the recently announced Creative Initiative beta , currently an invite-only program that pays creators of “high-quality, original content” a share of ad revenue over 1 minute.

Business as usual has continued for TikTok even as a growing number of governments have moved to ban the app, which some lawmakers believe endangers user privacy and national security because it is owned by Chinese internet giant ByteDance. In the United States, legislation passed by Congress would Giving President Biden the authority to ban TikTok Under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.
