Tim Wellens will become a Emirates Team Emirates The 2023 driver with the Belgian was confirmed as the team’s new signing on Tuesday.
Wellens spent his entire career at Lotto-Soudal, but he left to start a new adventure with Mauro Gianetti’s team.
“After working with my previous team for 10 years, I decided it was time for a new challenge. I feel like I am joining a truly global team in the UAE with a very professional structure and ambition. I am excited to start and Be a part of the team for 2023 and beyond,” Wellens said in the release.

Not only did Wellens bolster the team’s classic ambitions, but he also provided extra cover on the shorter stages of the race.
