Filmmaker Jude Anthany Joseph’s critically and commercially critically acclaimed Malayalam film 2018, released on May 5, will bow pan india May 26 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
The Hindi version of the film will be distributed through E4 Entertainment.

“2018” tells the story of the catastrophic flood in Kerala in 2018, and the story of people from all walks of life working together to tide over the difficulties. The film aims to convey the message that humans can overcome adversity. It stars Netflix’s “Minnal Murali,” starring Tovino Thomas and Indrans, Kunchacko Boban (“Ariyippu” on Netflix), Aparna Balamurali, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Asif Ali, Lal, Narain, Tanvi Ram, Sshivada, Kalaiyarasan, Aju Varghese, Siddique, Joy Mathew and Sudheesh. It opened in its home state of Kerala and several neighboring states, and has grossed more than $16 million in theaters to date, including US and UK box office receipts.
Joseph said: “We’ve been delighted to see how audiences and critics react to our film. The ‘2018’ journey has been an emotional one for us, bringing to the screen the pain of everyone who has lived through the flood.
