According to a recent report published by the Khaleej Times, Emirates travel agencies believe air ticket prices may drop in the coming weeks. They think so because sky-high fares are likely to drop as the initial summer peak is expected to have subsided. However, it is worth noting that with the arrival of the Hijri holidays, airfares may also increase on some flight segments. Sky Scanner, the online travel agency mentioned in the report, said that generally the first two weeks of the school holidays were the most popular time to travel. Therefore, this is also the most expensive time to travel, so according to travel agencies, travelers traveling during the week of August 19 can save nearly 10% compared to early July.

During the holidays, some sectors may usher in a peak!

Several travel agencies across the UAE agree with this view, as they believe prices usually drop from the second week of July onwards. It is understood that the peak season of ticket prices this year may be between June 20 and July 15. However, it is worth noting that the travel agency believes that prices may increase again between August 20 and September 10, as Onam and schools will also reopen during this period on August 29.
In fact, travel agents believe that airfares in countries such as Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan may not drop as people may want to travel to nearby countries during Hijri New Year, which is around the third week of July. The report comes as no surprise, as previous Sky Scanner data also showed that more than 90 percent of Emiratis decided to travel in the summer.
