There were media reports on Monday that two Indian nationals were killed in separate accidents in the UAE during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

Abhilash, who lives in Sharjah, died in a boating accident in Khor Fakkan city with his colleagues, the Khaleej Times newspaper reported.

According to reports, there were 16 passengers and two employees on board at the time of the incident.

Sharjah police confirmed that three other people, including a child, were injured in the crash, with at least one of them in critical condition.

The remains of Abhilash from Kerala are kept in the mortuary of Khor Fakkan Hospital. He is survived by his wife and daughter. In a separate incident, Subeesh Chozhiyamparambath, a worker for a landscaping company, was killed in multiple car accidents in Abu Dhabi’s Al Mafraq area on Thursday, the newspaper reported on Saturday.

Subeesh, who has lived in Abu Dhabi for the past two years, is also from Kerala. Reports quoted his family as saying he died a month before his 36th birthday.

“This is multiple car accidents in the Al Mafraq area. Subeesh was in the backseat with two other people. The car they were traveling in was hit. Subeesh is gone,” Subeesh’s cousin was quoted as saying in the report.

He added that two others who were traveling with Subeesh were also injured, with one in critical condition and in intensive care while the other escaped with minor injuries.

“The Indian embassy helped with the necessary paperwork,” he said.
