The Undersecretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence said in a statement.
The Treasury Department also imposed sanctions on Turkey-based industrial products company Dexias, which was allegedly used as an intermediary by Radioavtomatika, a Russian defense procurement company designated by the United States.
Azu International, also based in Turkey, has also been sanctioned and accused by the Treasury Department of helping to backfill electronics into Russia.
Washington also sanctioned two UAE-based entities, Aeromotus Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Trading LLC and Hulm Al Sahra Electric Devices Trading.
A U.S. official told Reuters that the sanctions target entities in Turkey’s maritime and trade sector that are “mainly” owned or linked to Russia and are intended to “send a warning at an evolving stage in the enforcement of export controls.”
Many countries in the Middle East, including NATO members Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, have been trying to find a balance between Washington and Moscow, as the United States has been ramping up pressure to isolate Russia on the world stage over its invasion of Ukraine.

Russian Kommersant FM Radio quoted a manager of a Russian logistics company as saying that Turkish customs refused to transfer the goods to Russia and Belarus, two countries that have been listed by the European Union as sanctions targets.
Ankara began blocking the transit of sanctioned goods on March 1 to comply with Western sanctions, Bloomberg quoted a senior Turkish official as saying.
Also in March, some of Turkey’s largest airport ground handling companies stopped servicing Western-made aircraft owned by Russian airline MEE Report.
Meanwhile, the UAE reversed course in late March, Cancel Russia’s MTS bank was granted the license after a senior US Treasury official dubbed the UAE a “focus country” for Washington as it looked to stifle Russia’s ties to the global economy.
