The inquest revealed the boy’s father rushed into the hole in an unsuccessful attempt to save him
A 13-year-old child and his 39-year-old father drowned in a water hole in Wadi Shahah in Ras Al Khaimah on Wednesday.
The Ras Al Khaimah Police Sea Rescue Unit was called to the scene after authorities received a call tonight reporting the incident.
Investigations revealed that the child started drowning in a rain-filled hole. His father rushed into the cave trying to save him, but failed in the end, and both father and son died.
After their arrival, sea rescuers began an extensive search operation using rubber boats until they managed to locate the two bodies.
The remains were then transferred to the morgue, and the relevant departments took over the legal process to complete the case.
