Organised in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Youth, the festival highlights the different stages of the Prophet’s biography and the ethics and values ​​associated with it through a variety of events and activities. It also aims to restore the cultural heritage of Emirati society through religious rituals preserved in memory and passed down orally.
The festival also focuses on Arabic and Islamic art through accompanying art exhibitions and various workshops aimed at cementing Islamic values ​​and recalling stories from the biographies of the great Prophet.
The art exhibition highlights the winning and qualifying works of the 2nd Arbadd Prize. The artworks focus on the biography of the Prophet and the lessons and values ​​learned from it, which help to strengthen the message of the Al Bader initiative to spread the values ​​of peace, tolerance and love adopted by Islam around the world.
The exhibition was held at the Fujairah Creative Centre (a cultural and youth centre in Fujairah) for two weeks from 6 to 20 October.
The second edition of the Albad Awards includes four categories: poetry, painting, multimedia and Arabic calligraphy, with a total prize money worth Dh1 million. The award aims to strengthen the connection between young people and their Arab and Islamic traditions and Islamic values ​​that call for tolerance by celebrating the aesthetics and creation of Islamic art.
The award also aims to discover and encourage talents in these fields of arts and literature, to create artworks inspired by the Biography of the Prophet (PBUH), to demonstrate his merits and moral greatness, and to enrich Arab and Islamic cultures with these artworks.
Various heritage and musical groups from the Arab world will perform live at Prophet’s Mawlid. These include the Hadra Chefchaoueniya troupe from Morocco, the Al Nabulsi troupe led by singer Noureddine Khurshid from Syria, the Fujairah Maalad Group from the UAE and the Al Burda Group from India. Celebrations in India will also include speeches by the Grand Mufti of India Sheikh Abu Bak Ahmed and Sheikh Ibrahim Al Khalil Buhari.
Over four days, the Al Bader Arts Festival will host a variety of workshops on Arabic and Islamic art represented by Arabic calligraphy, Islamic decoration, painting and printing, delivered by selected artists and experts in these fields.
The Al Bader Music Festival showcased the musical “Love to the Prophet (PBUH)”, a joint production with the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts. The production is performed by Ornina Musical Group and a selection of Emirati theatre stars and artists. Featuring nine scenes and live performances, the production highlights the values ​​of the Prophet and the stories from his biography, and how they apply to today’s society.
