The UAE Ministry of Economy will host a special event on May 8 during the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center to mark the one-year anniversary of the signing of the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The event, called CEPA Beyond Trade, will showcase the positive impact the agreement has had on business and cultural exchanges between the two countries over the past 12 months.
CEPA Beyond Trade will include panel discussions with industry leaders from the UAE and India, who will discuss the partnership’s key successes to date and explore how the two parties can collaborate in areas such as food, fashion and art. The event will also feature a street food festival, fashion shows and live entertainment. The UAE-India CEPA, which came into effect on 1 May 2022, is the UAE’s first-ever bilateral trade agreement and a cornerstone of the country’s new foreign trade agenda. The agreement removes unnecessary trade barriers, facilitates investment flows into priority sectors, and provides a platform for SMEs to cooperate and expand.
Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi believes that the UAE-India CEPA will be regarded as a turning point in bilateral relations and a model of international cooperation in the post-pandemic era. The event is supported by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), which has partnered with the Ministry of Economy as the main sponsor of the programme. The event is also supported by AIM, Lulu Group, Indian People’s Forum (IPF) and Texmas.
CEPA Beyond Trade will be held at the Annual Investment Conference on May 8th at 2pm.
