The UAE has announced new traffic fines of up to Dh2,000. The Home Office tweeted “new additions” aimed at improving safety, especially in emergencies and unstable weather conditions.

>> Gathering near valleys, floods and dams during rainy days: Dh1,000 fine and six demerit points.

>> Entering a flooded valley, regardless of danger: AED 2,000 fine, 23 demerit points and 60-day vehicle confiscation.

>> Obstructing the authorities to regulate traffic; Ambulances and rescue vehicles during emergencies, disasters, crises and rains; In flooded valleys: AED 1,000 fine, four demerit points and confiscation of the vehicle for 60 days.
