The UAE Cabinet has approved a Government Services Observatory – an interactive digital platform that displays customer satisfaction with government services in real time. The platform also shows customers’ impressions of various channels available, such as websites, apps, and service delivery centers.
On Monday, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, presided over the first Cabinet meeting of 2023.
National Desertification Strategy
The UAE Cabinet approved the strategy, which includes 33 major initiatives and a national action agenda to 2030. The strategy is based on five axes aimed at protecting ecosystems, improving conditions in arid and drylands, and mitigating and adapting to the effects of climate change on ecosystems affected by desertification.
Comprehensive incentives to support the space sector
Cabinet approved a decision governing licensing for space-related activities. This will facilitate investment and attract investors from all over the world.
It approved a decision to ensure compensation for damage caused to third parties during space activities. The meeting also approved a decision to regulate space resource activities.
Funding for Federal Higher Education Institutions
During the meeting, the Cabinet directed the Ministry of Education to coordinate with all relevant ministries to take necessary measures and issue guidelines for implementing the system.
The UAE also approved the restructuring of the UAE Food Safety Council. The meeting also approved a unified financial process guide for overseas donations and fund transfers.
