Visitors to Al Hamriyah Beach Park in Sharjah are educated about the importance of protecting the environment, cleaning and promoting environmental responsibility.

Al Hamriyah Municipality has launched the “My Environment…My Responsibility” awareness campaign as part of its efforts to educate visitors.

Ammar Ali Al Muhairi, Director of the Legal Affairs Department of Al Hamriyah Municipality, said: “The campaign aims to reduce wrongful environmental practices by launching a series of awareness and entertainment activities lasting two days. The campaign is open to all visitors to the park.

The campaign was launched to increase beachgoers’ environmental awareness indicators as part of the city’s efforts to promote a sustainable quality of life.

He explained that the environmental campaign was held at Al Hamriyah’s beach park for two days. It successfully achieved all its objectives, getting the city’s message to all target visitor groups and educating them about the dangers of ignition, how to safely dispose of barbecue charcoal, the hazards of littering in public places and more.

Aisha Sultan Muhammad, head of the city’s Urban Utilities Management Department, said the event included many activities and interactive programs that brought visitors from all social groups to the park.
