Certain concerns have been raised about social studies exams for Year 12 public school students, prompting the Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE) to issue clarifications on Thursday.
In its latest statement, ESE announced that it will adjust the scoring process for the exam by counting closely related answers as correct.
For the three questions on the exam, many students gave answers that were very similar to each other. ESE said the discovery prompted them to investigate the matter and take action.
A technical committee of education experts investigated the issue and scrutinized observations and concerns.
In addition to conducting inquiries, the committee provides all necessary support to students.
After a thorough review, ESE decided to adjust the scoring and consider closely related answers as correct.
