Abu Dhabi: The UAE Embassy in Berlin, led by Ambassador Ahmed Attar, hosted the UAE Special Olympics delegation to the Special Olympics World Games, which will be held from 17-25 June.
At the reception, the UAE Special Olympics delegation met with members of the UAE diplomatic corps in Germany and thanked them for their meaningful support of the UAE Special Olympics athletes throughout their preparations and for their efforts in promoting The role played by the UAE in friendship and cooperation with Germany.
Ambassador Al Attar commended the high morale of all members of the delegation, including athletes, coaches and support staff, and emphasized that every athlete is an ambassador for the UAE, reflecting UAE values and representing the UAE society.
Ambassador Ahmed Al Attar said: “Today, at the UAE Embassy, we are delighted to host the UAE Special Olympics delegation led by Talal Al Hashemi, Special Olympics UAE National Director. This inspiring and dynamic delegation is part of our country, Leadership and various agencies are committed to integrating people of determination into all aspects of the community, especially the results of sports. Our athletes will build on the great success of the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi in 2019 , they will return home with many successes and achievements.”
Talal Al Hashemi said: “We are delighted to have been generously invited by the UAE Embassy in Germany headed by Ambassador Ahmed Al Attar and would like to thank him and the entire UAE Mission in Berlin for their warm welcome and their support in ensuring we have all the support we need, Because we are all getting ready for the World Games that start this Sunday.”
ADNOC Group is the official sponsor of the Special Olympics UAE delegation. The UAE has the largest delegation from the MENA region at the Berlin 2023 World Games, comprising 167 people and will compete in 20 different sports.
