CM seeks report from IG police
The Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi, visited Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi at his office and discussed issues of mutual concern. They also discussed strengthening bilateral ties and investment opportunities and agreed to start construction of the Mubarak Center on Ferozepur Road in Lahore as soon as possible.
The CM thanked the UAE leaders and ambassadors for their support to the flood victims and said he was grateful for the relief supplies. Rehabilitation of the victims is underway, and special medical camps have been set up to prevent the outbreak; he said, adding that he is monitoring the recovery of those affected by the floods.
“We welcome Dhabi Group’s investment in the Mubarak Center and are deeply grateful to UAE Minister Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.” The project also includes a 7-star hotel that will To host international players; he pointed out and added that the Mubarak Center and Gaddafi Stadium will be connected.
The plan will greatly facilitate international players in and out of Gaddafi Stadium. He further said that during the race, traffic congestion will be eased and traffic will continue to flow.
Parvez Elahi mentioned that he laid the cornerstone for the Mubarak Center project during his previous tenure. Unfortunately, the PML-N government stopped the project for personal gain, and he regretted it.
Now, the government will speed up the project, this avant-garde project will increase business and economic activity.
He said that Pakistan and the UAE are fraternal; he pointed out and asked Emirati investors to take advantage of the huge opportunities to invest in Punjab. He added that investment companies from the United Arab Emirates would be welcome in Punjab. The UAE’s cooperation in Pakistan’s development is commendable. He said we value the cooperation of the United Arab Emirates in improving education, health and other fields. He further said that I will visit the United Arab Emirates as soon as possible.
The UAE ambassador invited Parvez Elahi to visit the United Arab Emirates, adding that the Mubarak Center will further promote cooperation between the two countries. Pakistan is our second home.
We have a responsibility to help the flood victims through this, and we are here to help our Pakistani brothers.
The Chief Secretary, the Secretary for Water Resources, and the Financial Secretary were also present.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Chowdhury Parvez Erahi condemned the shooting at police within the range of Rahim Yar Khan’s PS Bhong.
He has sought a report from IG police and paid tribute to martyred constable Mohammad Akbar.
He has directed the early arrest of the accused and the provision of the best possible treatment facilities for the injured police officers.
We salute the martyred police officer Mohammad Akbar who sacrificed his life in the performance of his duty.
He concluded that the Punjab government stands with the family of the deceased and will do its utmost to take care of them.
