The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) distributed 2,000 pieces of sacrificial meat on the occasion of Eid al-Adha under the Adahi initiative as part of Operation Valiant Rider 2, launched by the Joint Operations Command of the Ministry of Defence.
The initiative benefited 100,000 Syrian families affected by the devastating February earthquake in the four governorates of Latakia, Aleppo, Hama and Homs in Syria.
The humanitarian initiative, carried out in partnership with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, aims to bring joy and happiness to beneficiary families during Eid al-Fitr and is part of the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian effort to alleviate the suffering of families affected by the earthquake in the country and part of the rescue effort February 6, 2023.
It also aims to help Syrians overcome their current situation.
Mohammad Khamis Kabi, head of the ERC mission in Syria, said that the aid included 500 sacrificial meat in Aleppo, 500 in Latakia, 500 in Homs, 500 in Hama, and four in Syria. A total of 100,000 beneficiaries in six provinces.
Operation Brave Knight 2 is one of the UAE’s major initiatives aimed at supporting the Syrian people under the direction of its leadership.
As part of the operation, we dispatched 186 aircraft and 4 ships carrying essential food supplies, medicines and medical equipment to support the Syrian people in their recovery phase.
