UAE-based fashion e-commerce startup Bazaara has raised $230,000 in pre-seed funding. This round of financing was led by MENA seed investor Flat6Labs, followed by a number of angel investors.
With this funding, Bazaara aims to strengthen its presence in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). It is also planning a full launch in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia this year.
The free-to-use peer-to-peer resale fashion app allows users to buy and sell second-hand fashion items and accessories directly from other users.
Bazaara aims to create a sustainable, community-driven platform that will enable users to profitably recycle their wardrobes, a statement said at Wanda. The transaction fee is added on top of the seller’s profit per sale.
The platform has more than 20,000 users and has accumulated more than 25,000 listings with a total value of more than $1.5 million, the statement said.
