A Ras Al Khaimah father has been convicted of beating his 10-year-old son and his ex-wife and forcibly dragging his son while he boarded a school bus. He also yelled at the bus driver and supervisor.
The ex-wife filed a lawsuit seeking Dh60,000 from the defendant as compensation for the moral and material damage she suffered.
The defendant’s attorney said his client filed a lawsuit against the plaintiff, asking him to allow him to see his son. He was ordered to arrest because he refused to accept the ruling and moved to the place of residence.
Medical reports confirmed that the plaintiff suffered severe bruising to her right shoulder and that her son had pain in his right forearm. This shows that the defendant deliberately beat them on the day of the incident.
The RAK court found the father guilty and ordered him to pay a Dh11,000 fine, as well as court costs and legal fees.
