Since the start of Ramadan, the UAE-CFSF has responded to 2,500 hunt requests and the number is expected to increase throughout Ramadan.

Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Director General of UAE-CFSF, said that for the first time since the launch of the Advisory Service, the Council has provided the public with the opportunity to communicate directly with Islamic experts, clerks and muftis through all services, 7 days a week, including daily weeks of statutory holidays.

He added that this was done within the framework of the council’s efforts to meet public demand for fatwas during Ramadan.

From the very first day of Ramadan, CFSF has responded to jurisprudential and legal questions from the public and allowed them to communicate with trusted experts, considering that fatwa requests received by the Council will exceed 2,500 per day throughout Ramadan .

Under the new schedule, the call center will be available for inquiries Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm, while inquiries from the public will be answered on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from 1pm to 6pm.

Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei highlighted the Council’s efforts to consolidate its position as the leading body for delivering fatwas.

He noted that the provision of fatwa services on all days of the week during the holy month is in line with the Council’s will to control legal fatwas, standardize their references, organize its affairs and mechanisms for issuance in the country.

avoid extremism

Dr Al Darei said the CFSF struggled to take into account changes in the jurisprudence upon which the fatwa is drawn each time. It simplifies the fatwa and avoids extremism.

Fatwa in three languages

The Council’s Fatwa Services Liaison Center is keen to provide legal fatwas in three main languages (Arabic, English and Urdu) in five main areas of specialisation, including specialization in worship, financial transactions, family matters , youth and student fatwas, in addition to ordinary fatwas and private women’s fatwas.

How to apply for a fatwa

The public can access Islamic fatwa services by dialing 8002422 within the United Arab Emirates, 0097122052555 abroad or 2535 via SMS.
